Real estate investing can be very profitable. It allows one to invest and leverage their gains with a tangible asset. If you leverage in the stock market, it is very easy for a company to go bankrupt. In general terms, land and houses are safer because they will not dissapear. If you rent out a house or business, then you are having someone else pay down the mortgage as well.

Donr forget to check out the electrics

A periodic inspection report is a report on the condition of an electrical installation, it is not as sometimes mistakenly known a safety certificate but a report on how safe the electrics are. It is essentially an MOT for your properties electrics. The report is usually a three plus page document (depending on the size and type of the property to be inspected & tested) and consists of;

Details of the electrical installation.

Items inspected and tested

Observations

Recommendations.

Test results

If you are considering buying a property then it would be wise to invest in a PIR before making your final descision, or if you are letting it then you want to know it’s safe for your tennants, you want to know that the property you are buying or letting is electrically safe.

A surveyors report will not tell you if a property is electrically sound, although they may recommend having a PIR.

One I would like to add, make sure everything is done to last and implemented properly. I have been in the building business for the last 23 years and have lost count of the amount of times the job is to clean up renovations made the previous years.

Take your time and get it done properly people!

The problem I found with my home remodel was dealing with the contractors and their workers. They never seem to do what they say they are or they end up going over budget. I wish there was a way to weed out all the bad ones so people didn’t get ripped off so much
